LAKEWATCH-BAYWATCH ANNUAL VOLUNTEER LUNCHEON June 26, 2010
We had a great turnout for the LAKEWATCH Annual Volunteer Training and Appreciation meeting on June 26th.David Watson, the University of Florida LAKEWATCH coordinator for our region, provided training on proper water collection techniques, discussed sample processing, and explained how data are used. Lunch and games were enjoyed by all. In addition to the University of Florida, we would like to thank all the people who helped make the meeting a success including Panama City Marine Institute who donated the use of their conference room and volunteers Natali and Tony Miller and Matthew Smith, who helped set up and clean up. In addition, we had the generous support of twenty-seven community sponsors who donated prizes that were given to Baywatch volunteers to show appreciation for their hard work and dedication during the past year.
